From Shafi’u Saleh
Hassan Muhammed Oscer, one of the youths in the senatorial districts representing Adamawa North in the National Assembly, Senator Amos Yohanna, explained the problems of lack of water they are facing and the progress brought by the Senator in the area.
He said that they have been suffering from severe shortage of clean water for a long time in Michika local government, but now the Senator has wiped away their tears, so he explained that the member of parliament’s action is worthy of praise.
Oscer, who was speaking to the media in Yola, said that Senator Amos Yohanna dug boreholes for them in schools, centers and public gathering places, where they got clean water, after they had been suffering from the problem for many years.
He went on to say, “We in the Northern part of Adamawa, have just now known that we have elected, a member of parliament who has wiped away our tears, after many years, we have been suffering from the problem of lack of clean water.
“Senator Amos has done everything for us, he has supported groups and young men and women, he has helped and taught young people self-reliance, and he has supported farmers with modern fertilizers, seeds and geshi medicine.
“He also helped students with school fees and provided them with study materials, besides giving them support and giving them more capital for the trades they learned.
“At times of Eid-fitr or Christmas, he used to give us food items like rice, sugar, macaroni pasta and money” said Oscar.
The senator told us what we need, right our problem is water, now our call is our dam in Kwaja if God gives him the opportunity to improve it, because there is a lot of water problem in the area, the Dam will help us.
“We appreciate him very much, for encouraging our children to do business, because it is not possible for all of us to become public servants. Our second demand is the issue of the Yola to Mubi highway. We are calling on Senator Amos and Senator Iya Abbas, they should put more pressure on the companies that are working on the repair of the road,” he emphasized.
Senator Amos Yohanna, who represents Adamawa North senatorial districts which includes Mubi South, Mubi North, Madagali, Michika and Maiha Local Governments in the National Assembly, is also working to train 150 youths on different professions now in the area.
