Senator Binos Empowers Farmers With 200 Water Pumps in Adamawa.

No few than 200 dry season farmers from the nine(9) of local government areas of Adamawa southern Senatorial District have been supported with free water pumps to enhance their productivity.

The distribution exercise of the water pumps sponsored by the Senator representing the Adamawa southern zone,Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe took place in Mayo-belwa local government area weekend amidst cheers and appreciations from his benefiting constituents.

Addressing the beneficiaries at the distribution exercise, Chairman of the distribution committee,Major AVM Elam(RTD), the gesture from the people’s Senator Binos was done to enhance food production being an important driving force of the economy to any country globally.

Major Elam stated that the feat will tremendously in boosting the economy of both the farmers and the communities and increasing food production in the land noting that with great prospects and high expectations as they focus on dry season farming for both domestic and commercial purposes.

Elam said that it is imperative for farmers to engage in both rainy and dry seasons farming, revealing that more empowerment programmes are underway for the benefit of peasant farmers across rural communities in the Adamawa South 9 LGAs by the Senator.

He however, called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the farming machine in order to achieve the goal of the project which is to empower peasant farmers to enable them fight hunger in the land.

“Apart from the free medical outreaches, Senator Binos has engaged in a good number of empowerment programmes for the benefit of his constituents. And one of these programmes is to freely distribute these water pumps to dry season farmers in order to enhance dry season farming in the Zone.

“As you are all aware, this is not the time for politics. The era of politics have passed, and it is now time for the masses to enjoy the dividends of democracy by their political officeholders.

“That is why in this free distribution of water pumps, beneficiaries have been selected from all the major political parties in the State”.Elam maintained.

In their separate good will messages at the ceremony,the Commissioners  for Mineral Resources, Hon. Ibrahim Haruna and Commissioner of Transportation,Hon.Musa Kalamu  expressed delight with the empowerment,commending Senator Binos for seeing the need to embark on such all-important programme.

They called on the beneficiaries to ensure judicious use of the water pumps expressing optimism that the empowerment would go a long way in improving agricultural production in the land.

Most of the beneficiaries interviewed at the venue of the distribution after receiving free water pumps thanked Senator Binos for the kind gesture, praying God Almighty to give him more wisdom and strength to enable him provide more democracy dividends to his constituents.

A beneficiary, Mr. Kingsley Tanko, said that he is a bonafide member of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), where he hailed Senator Binos Yaroe for carrying all political parties along in his programmes and activities.

According to him, “I am a member and supporter of the APC, but I was called as one of the beneficiaries of the farming machine. I am not the only one from the opposition political parties. Some of the beneficiaries are members of SDP, Labour Party and the APC. I hail Senator Binos for this kind gesture”.

Another beneficiary, Baban Ladi Dan-Borno, who could not hide his joy, thanked Senator Binos for empowering him. He assured the lawmaker that he would utilise the farming machine for the purpose intended.

He disclosed, “I lack words to thank Senator Binos Yaroe with. He is a God-sent to the people of Adamawa Southern Senatorial District. I never dreamed of having this water pump, but Senator Binos has made it possible for me to get. This gesture has encouraged me to be more committed in dry season farming”.
