Stop the killings of our farmers, Federal lawmaker tell FG, Military

The member representing Chibok, Damboa and Gwoza federal Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Java has appealed to the Federal Government and military to urgently stop
the increasing number of killing of farmers by Boko Haram insurgents.
Speaking during the distribution of farm inputs provided to his constituency members at the Government House, Maiduguri on Wednesday, Hon. Ahmed Jaha said ” I was just coming from Gwoza town, for condolence of 10 farmers killed by Boko Haram insurgents. The insurgents earlier killed 6 farmers, then 2 farmers again and just yesterday after I have left they killed another 2 person making a total of 10 persons from 9th September, 2023 to 19th, September, 2023.”.
” I am calling on the Federal Government and the military in particular to do something urgently to stop this geometric killing of Farmers in Gwoza and Bana local government areas of Borno state., Hon. Java said .
The federal lawmakers said * I am calling on the farmers to remain resilient. The insurgents are attaching and killing just to instill fear, so that they can loot the farm produced, as our farmers have started harvesting their farm produced “.
He said ” we are distributing these spraying machines, water pumps and tilling machines to encourage you to build your resilience. You should remain resilient and not to succumb to their antics.
He urged the farmers not to sell the items but make good use of them to improved the food security of their families and the entire economy of their communities.
