Strike action: Bormo NLC denied Head of Service access to state Secretariat

In compliance with the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), strike action, Bormo NLC denied the Bormo state Head of Service, Barrister Mallum Fannami entrance into the Musa Usman state Secretariat, Maiduguri.

Monitoring the level of compliance, the Bormo state Chairman of the NLC, Comrade Yusuf Inuwa said ” you can see the level of compliance, the Musa Usman Secretariat is under locked an SD key, we have denied the Secretary to the state Government (SSG), Hon. Bukar Tijjani and the state Head of Service, Barrister Mallum Fannami access to the Secretariat”.

” We are satisfied with the level of compliance in Bormo, we went round with you (journalists) even activities at the Maiduguri International Airport were grounded, as there was no flight. Now we are going back to the NLC Secretariat to recieve reports. Tomorrow we are going to continue”, Comrade Inuwa added.

Daily Hint correspondent who went round, Maiduguri, the Bormo state capital reports that there was compliance of the strike action, as Federal Secretariat, Musa Usman Secretariat, banks public schools closed, as well as some private schools were also closed.

While activities at the University of Maiduguri was still going on, as students were allow to write first sermister examinations, as well as students writing SSCE in both private and public schools were also allowed to write their examinations.

Speaking, a resident of Maiduguri, mallam Ibrahim urged federal government to listen to the labour to call off the strike, before things gets out of hand.

” Nigerians are already suffering a lot of economic hardship, I urge the NLC, TUC and the federal government to resolve their do inference before things get out of order”, he added.
