Surprise Birthday Packages, Patients Commend Ribadu
By Adamu Muhammad Dodo
It was his 64th birthday, unsolicited congratulatory messages could have appeared on the pages of newspapers, to him, the day was for supplication and reflection; assessing how well spent the previous years, also in gratitude to Allah Most High for the opportunity to live up to these years, to this day, acknowledging also that a year is down from the list of the unknown time to go; the sons and daughters, whom some people could have thought would have celebrated father’s birthday throwing a party held in a security assured plush place filled with pomp and pageantry, have showcased a surprised package tailored to humanity – moralising a poet’s articulation that it is only with wealth of health that one’s family remembers one’s day of birth, the weak with ill health prays for recovery, thinks of heaven than the day coinciding with his birth – visited the hospitals, shared food and N50,000 each to 200 inpatients; 100 at state specialist hospital Yola and 100 at Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, M.A.U.T.H Yola, Adamawa state.
They prayed for the patients’ quick recovery, giving them hope to be strong, sermonising that they should consider their conditions as Divine trial and remain devotedly faithful to what is fated cannot be abated.
Their identities were not disclosed to the patients, the sons and daughters, bed after bed on Thursday, shared food and money, mentioning that it’s the family of the Nigerian National Security Adviser, NSA, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, commemorating their father’s birthday.
On their beds, filled with surprise and delight, the patients thankfully prayed for the family and the NSA not only for more years ahead but for Allah Most High to keep Guarding and guiding him, to be victorious in the Herculean national assignment.
Fatimah Nuhu Ribadu and her husband Aliyu Atiku Abubakar, the Turaki Adamawa, accompanied by Mustapha Atiku Ribadu with others representing the siblings, indeed gave succour, support and strength to inpatients in dire need, marking their father’s birthday in peace.
