There’s No Clash Between Lunguda And Waja in Adamawa – Ahmed Lawan
From Shafi’u Saleh
The Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor of Adamawa State, on Peace and Security Affairs (SSA), Ahmed Lawan has denied the latest clash between the Waja and Lunguda tribes in Lamurde local government in the state.
In a press release on Monday, Ahmed Lawan said that the news is not true, so people should continue with their daily activities as usual.
Here is what the announcement says “the attention of my office was drawn to a misleading supposed security alert circulating on the social media suggesting violent tribal or communal clash in Lamurde local government area.
“While dismissing the false alarm, i wish to categorically state here that, the incident that happened was purely an allegation of witchcraft against a woman which resulted to the killing of six people she accused of the act and NOT communal clash between waja and lunguda.
“As it is now, the police under the able leadership of CP Morris Dankwambo have made arrest and investigation has since commenced and those found wanting will be prosecuted.
“I wish to call on all and sundry to go about their legitimate endeavors as the present Governor Fintiri’s government is working aciduously to ensure the security and well being of its citizens.
“I also applaud the efforts of all security outfits in the state for their readiness to maintaining law and order in the state.
“I also urge the media to always cross check their facts before going to the press as required by their professional ethics” the statement said.
