Tinubu in Maiduguri, sympathizes with flood victims, promises to support them

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was on Monday in Maiduguri to sympathize with the Government and people of Borno state over the recent flood that ravaged, the state capital.
Addressing the flood victims at Government College, Maiduguri IDP camps, President Bola Tinubu said ” I want to assure you that we are with you, we are going to support you”.
After addressing the victims, President was at the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Elkanemi’s palace where he sympathized with him and people of Borno state over the unfortunate incident of flood disaster that ravaged the state.
At the Shehu’s Palace, president promised to be with the victims, rehabilitate the affected areas and solved their problem.
Also speaking, Governor Babagana Zulum thanked the President for his supports through Federal agencies such as NEMA NEDC among others.
He urged the president to rehabilate the destroyed Alau Dam that was wash away by the flood.
Responding, the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Elkanemi thanked the President, said, your Excellency we want to thank you for what you have been doing to us. the Federal Government has done so much to Borno.
The Royal father also urged the Federal Government to investigate the causes of the callapsed Alau Dam with a view to forestall future occurance-.
The president was accompanied by the President of the Senate, Godswiill Akpabio, were received by the Borno state Governor Prof Babagana Zulum, Bauchi state Governor, the chairman Nigerian Governor’s Forum, Abdulrazaq Abdurrahaman, the chairman Northern Governors Forum, and Governor of Gombe, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya, Bauchi state Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed, Kogi state Governor, Usman Ododo and their Sokoto state counterpart .
