Troops hands over Boko Haram Commander, spokesman, Abu Darda, ex wife to Borno Government

The Northeast Operation Hadin Kai of the Nigerian Army has rescued and handed over the ex wife of the Boko Haram Commander and Spokesman Abu Darda, Mrs Ihi Abdu to the Borno state government for de-radicalization and reintegration back to her family.

Abu Darda was the second spokesman of the Boko Haram sect under the leadership of Abubakar shekau after the arrest of the first spokesman Abu Kaka.

Ihi Abdu was one of the Chibok girl abducted by the Boko Haram insurgents on 14th April, 2014, while writing SSCE at the Government Girls Secondary School Chibok, Borno state.

Speaking on the rescued of the Ihi Abdu yesterday at the headquarters theater Command, Maiduguri,, the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division, Brigadier General Abubakar Haruna said ” Ihi was rescued on 23rd Jul,y, 2024 by the troops of 22 taskforce brigade and that Ihi hails from Kuburbula village of Chibok local government area.

General Haruna said Ihi Abdul was on serial number 67 of the abducted Chibokgirls published by the federal government and that she was married out to Boko Haram Commander Abu Darda and after fleeing to Senegal, she was married out to 7 different husband’s

He said ” Ihi Abdul was rescued with her 2 children and she is also 3 months pregnant. She has undergone necessary medical check up and we today handing her over to the Borno state government for further attention”.

Speaking with newsmen in an interview, Mrs Ihi Abdu said She was married out to 8 different husbands, stressing that she first married the spokesman of the sect, Abdu Darda in Gwoza shortly after their abduction and after he (Abu Darda ) fled to Senegal, she was married to another husband who was also killed in an operation, adding she was married to 8 different Boko Haram fighters.

She said at the time of releasing the other Chibok girls she was not willing to come out untill now.

When asked if she still want go back to school, she said ” I only want to read Quran and not any other thing”.
