Veteran Kannywood Actor Abdullahi Shu’aibu Karkuzu Passes Away in Jos

Renowned Kannywood actor and veteran in the Hausa film industry, Abdullahi Shu’aibu, popularly known as Karkuzu, has passed away in Jos after a prolonged illness.

Close associates of the late actor, along with prominent figures in the Kannywood industry, confirmed his demise to the BBC.

Karkuzu gained widespread recognition in the 1980s with his famous production, ‘Karkuzu na Bodara’, which made him a household name in the Hausa entertainment industry.

According to reports, the veteran actor breathed his last on Tuesday night in Jos after battling an illness for several years, which eventually led to his loss of sight.

His funeral prayer is scheduled to take place this Wednesday morning in Jos, where he will be laid to rest.
