VP Shettima, Inuwa Yahaya, Other Dignitaries Launch Ibrahim Masari’s Empowerment Programme in Katsina State

The Chairman of Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON, on Saturday, joined the Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima, Deputy Senate President, Sen. Jibrin Barau, and his Governor-colleagues to flag-off a multi-million naira empowerment programme in Kafur, Katsina state.
The empowerment programme initiated by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters, Alh. Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, is designed to alleviate the hardships faced by residents of his senatorial district, Funtua zone, attracting over ten thousand beneficiaries from the 11 local governments of the district.
Speaking during the event, Vice President Kashim Shettima highlighted that the Tinubu-led administration acknowledges the prevailing economic challenges in the country, reassuring citizens that comprehensive measures are being implemented to remedy the situation and empower them to overcome these challenges for better livelihoods.
He maintained that the ongoing initiatives aimed at providing relief to the people of Nigeria are yielding positive results, with a commitment to sustaining partnerships with state governments, saying the collaboration will create additional avenues and programmes to tackle economic challenges and enhance the quality of life for citizens.
The Vice President further urged the Nigerian people to remain patient and resolute, as President Tinubu’s administration remains dedicated to fulfilling its campaign promises of enhancing security and revitalizing the economy.
He also commended the sponsor of the empowerment programme, Alh. Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, noting that the initiative is in line with the federal government’s economic relief efforts.
In his remarks, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya who spoke on behalf of the attending governors, praised Alhaji Ibrahim Masari for the initiative, emphasizing that no act of generosity is left unrewarded by Allah.
He stated that both the President and all governors are assiduously working to tackle the economic challenges, recognizing the hardships faced by citizens, while assuring that these challenges will soon be overcome and become a thing of the past.
The NSGF Chairman also urged affluent Nigerians whom God has blessed with wealth to follow the example of Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari by extending acts of generosity to their communities.
He emphasized that such gestures would significantly complement the efforts of both federal and state governments in alleviating the challenges posed by the increasing cost of living in the country.
In their separate remarks, the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Barau Jibrin, the APC National Chairman represented by the Deputy National Chairman (North), congratulated the benefactor as well as the beneficiaries, urging them to utilize the items given to them judiciously to improve their livelihoods.
10,200 beneficiaries received a cash capital of N30,000 each, amounting to 306 million naira, while others got vehicles, motorcycles, fertilizers, grinding machines, sewing machines, welding machines and solar systems amongst other items.
The event was attended by Governors of Katsina, Borno, Jigawa, Yobe, National Assembly members, Ministers, among others.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya was accompanied to the event by the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly, his deputy and other lawmakers; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alh. Abubakar Inuwa Kari, former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ismaila Mu’azu Hassan and other top government functionaries.
