Yola High court fixed 4th Nov. for Defense lawyers to admit witnesses in Fufore Emirate creation suit.

A High court sitting in Yola has fixed 3rd and 4th November 2025 for the defense counsels to open their defense appearance in the lingering legal suit over the creation of the Fufore Emirate council by the Adamawa state government.

Justice Musa Usman of High court No.4 Yola announced the dates on Wednesday after the prosecution counsels have closed their presentation of witnesses and evidence s before the court urging the legal teams in the suit to guide their witnesses properly in the subsequent court proceedings with a view to save time and energy.

Recall that, the state government created Fufore emirate out the Adamawa Emirate this year which informed three

concerned citizens including; Alhaji Musa Halilu Ahmed (Dujiman Adamawa),Alh.Mustapha Dahiru Mustapha (Yeriman Adamawa),and Alhaji Mustapha Ahmed (Sarki Noma Adamawa) to challenged the process in court believing the development to be distortion to the heritage of the Fombina dynasty.

Speaking to journalists on the matter, the leader of the prosecution counsels, Mohammad M.Nurudeen (SAN) said that being the lawyers for the plaintiffs,they have

Presented their witnesses to the court who have been examined and cross-examined.

‎”We have called our four witnesses and concluded our evidence today. The court has adjourned to the 4th and 5th of November for the defence that is, for the government and the new emir to bring their own witnesses,” Nurudden said.

‎When asked what to expect when the defence opens its case, he said, “they will bring their witnesses, who will be examined and cross-examined. After that, the court will adjourn for final addresses from both sides.”

However in his response, the state Attorney General and as the third respondent in the case Hon.Afraimu Jingi said so far the progress of the litigation is satisfactory adding that the court will determine the credibility of the evidences provided by the plaintiffs.

‎“What we have done yesterday and today was to take the evidence of the plaintiffs. They listed five witnesses but were able to call four. We have cross-examined them thoroughly to our satisfaction.

‎“We are satisfied with what has happened. We don’t have any burden; the burden lies on the plaintiffs to prove their claims.”Jingi declared
