2027 : ADC guber-candidate pledges to ensure good governance, rule of law in Adamawa.
By Umar Dankano, Yola.
The Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State, Amb.Umar Suleiman (Omarana), has reaffirmed his zeal for good governance and respect for rule of law if given the mandate by electorate in the state come 2027 general elections.
Ambassador Omarana made the pledge while speaking on the aftermath of the court ruling against him over pasting of campaign posters indiscriminately by his supporters insisting his unwavering commitment to peaceful, issue-based politics, respect for the rule of law and the pursuit of practical solutions to the developmental challenges confronting Adamawa State.
Omarana said his campaign accepted the decision of the court out of respect for lawful institutions and democratic accountability noting that, he neither authorised nor encouraged the unlawful acts, and that, compliance with the court :s decision demonstrates responsible leadership and a commitment to lawful conduct.
He emphasized that, any member of his campaign found to have acted contrary to campaign directives has learnt an important lesson that discipline, respect for public property and obedience to the law remain non-negotiable values of the Omarana Movement.
“I Come in Peace and express profound appreciation to members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), support groups, volunteers and the people of Adamawa State for their continued confidence and overwhelming support for his vision of “Adamawa That Works – For Today, For Tomorrow.”Omarana stated.
Omarana reiterated that his campaign remains committed to protecting public infrastructure and upholding the rule of law saying that environmental Protection Must Go Beyond Posters
According to him, the legal action originated from the Ministry responsible for environmental protection and described the development as an opportunity to broaden public discourse on environmental governance.
”While campaign posters placed on public structures deserve regulatory attention, environmental protection should equally focus on more pressing challenges affecting the daily lives of Adamawa citizens.
“Our campaign believes that environ environmental protection cannot begin and end with campaign posters. If we are genuinely committed to protecting our environment, then we must also confront the growing mountains of refuse, poor sanitation and environmental degradation that directly threaten the health and dignity of our people.
”This is not an attempt to diminish the importance of protecting public property. Rather, it is a call for environmental priorities that reflect the everyday realities confronting ordinary citizens.
”Our mission is simple, to build an Adamawa that works; an Adamawa that creates opportunities for young people; an Adamawa that protects public resources while investing in human development; an Adamawa that delivers prosperity for today and for tomorrow.
”I come in peace, and by the grace of Almighty Allah, together we shall build an Adamawa that truly works”.Omarana maintained.
