From spearheading critical infrastructure projects to expanding the political base of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Buni’s impact in the past week has been both profound and far-reaching. His hands-on inspection of the Damaturu drainage project underscored a firm commitment to proactive governance, ensuring that residents are safeguarded against the threat of seasonal flooding. Bulldozers, excavators, and caterpillars are working around the clock under his directive to complete the project before the rains set in—a move that has already earned commendation from grateful residents.

In the economic sphere, Governor Buni’s visionary investments are bearing fruit. The Gashua Ultra-Modern Market, one of his flagship projects, has become a bustling hub of commerce, providing jobs and opportunities for thousands of Yobe youths. Across major towns in the state, newly built markets are setting the stage for sustained economic growth, reflecting Buni’s strategic focus on empowering communities and boosting livelihoods.

Governor Buni’s transformative agenda also extends to healthcare and education. His administration recently upgraded the Yobe University Teaching Hospital (YUTH) with state-of-the-art facilities, including a Community Medicine Building, a Physiotherapy Department, new lecture halls, and a 100-capacity hostel for medical students, complete with an e-library. Speaking during the Quarterly Strategy Meeting of Commissioners of Information from APC-governed states, held at the PGF Secretariat in Abuja on April 24th and 25th, 2025, Dr. Aluko commended Buni’s contributions to strengthening the Forum’s operations and fostering a culture of strategic communication across APC-controlled states.

The strategy meeting served as a vital platform for reviewing the PGF’s 2025 Media and Communication Work-Plan, evaluating the National Value Reorientation Programme, and enhancing media alignment with the PGF’s policy vision. Attendees praised Governor Buni’s leadership, noting that his unwavering support has been critical to the Forum’s ability to drive innovation and effective governance communication.

Further cementing his influence, Governor Buni joined his APC counterparts at the Progressives Governors Forum meeting in Abuja, where discussions focused on supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies, strengthening party unity, and consolidating gains ahead of future elections. Governor Buni’s presence and input were seen as instrumental to the Forum’s strategic deliberations.
