At least10 Person Feared dead, several missing as boat Capsize in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency has confirmed the death of 10  persons following a Boat that capsized in the Njuwa River in the Yola South Local Government area of Adamawa State.

Executive Secretary, of Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, Dr. Sulaiman Muhammad, confirmed the incident on Saturday in a communique adding that 10 other persons were rescued. 

Daily Hint gathered that the boat was carrying about 23 people on their way to a business engagement.

“Their boat capsized due to bad weather. There was a thunderstorm actually about the time they got on the boat.”

According to him, the agency is still working to identify all crossing points in the state to provide live jackets for passengers as directed by the state Deputy Governor, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta.
