L-PRES: Media practitioners resolve to support livestock farming development in Adamawa

Critical stakeholders in the media industry have resolved to partner with the Adamawa state livestock productivity and resilience support project (L-PRES) in enhancement of livestock farming through aggressive awareness drive in the state.
The resolution was sealed at a two-day capacity building training of 117 media personnel including journalists, information officers of the 21 local government areas and the social media influencers jointly organized by L-PRES and Dunabel Dynamic Concept Limited, a development communication firm focused on capacity-building and strategic media engagement.
At the training held in Yola on 23th to 24th June, participants were equipped with advanced and improved strategies on project documentation and documentary production to enhance public awareness and buy-in-L-PRES project developmental objectives
Delivering his speech before declaring the workshop open, Commissioner for Livestock and Aquaculture Development, Alhaji Tijjani Maksha told the participants that Adamawa state was part of the few states accessing the L-PRES project in the country.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Aminu Suleiman,Maksha stressed that such training would greatly enhance the flow of credible information about the livestock value chain, especially to rural communities.
He also commended L-PRES for its tireless efforts in supporting pastoralists and farmers across Adamawa, urging the project team to sustain its proactive approach to agricultural development.
Earlier in his remarks, State Coordinator of L-PRES, Mr. Secondee Alfa, said that the rationale behind the unique training was to facilitate a more direct link with the target audience to know about the initiative and its objectives which are tie up to livestock productivity.
Alfa announced that the interface with the media practitioners was the tenth (10) in the series of activities undertaken by the organization with a sole aim of assisting pastoralists and livestock farmers adopt global best practices, thereby enhancing their productivity and resilience.
In his goodwill message, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. James Iliya,who spoke through the Director of Information, Priam Lubba, noted that the success of L-PRES would translate into improved livestock productivity and economic empowerment for many households in the state. He encouraged participants to apply the knowledge gained effectively, in order to create meaningful impact through accurate and engaging storytelling.
Some participants including Kumeh Lakyam and Dobiyan Alfred expressed gratitude to the organizers of the training pledging to use the knowledge impacted on them in amplifying the activities of the L-PRES for the good of the society.
