7 killed, as Boko haram hits Borno military base

At least seven person were killed others injured including soldiers when suspected Boko Haram insurgents launched an attack on military base in Ngamdu, Kaga local government area of Borno state.
A security source who does not want his name in print said that the terrorists group stormed the military Super Camp in Ngamdu along Maiduguri-Damaturu road at about 2am on Friday and opened fire on soldiers on duty.
“Following the attack, this morning Motorists were forced to keep off from plying, the Maiduguri-Damaturu road due to the attack, where many were either asked to return back to Danaturu or Maiduguri”, the source Said.
The source added that “The terriorists came around 2 am and started shooting sporadically, the attack lasted for about one hour, solders and many civilians may have lost their lives, i was told 9 persons were killed mostly solders in the gun duel, fortunately the wounded soldiers have been taken to Damaturu for medical attention.”
He said that the wounded soldiers has been conveyed to Damaturu Specialist Hospital for immediate medical treatment..
The source further said that reinforcements troops from Benisiekh and Mainok where they repelled the attack and unspecified number of the terrorist were killed.
As at the time of filing this report there was no official confirmation, as the phone numbers of the Borno state Police Command public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Daso and that of the Spokesman of the theater Operation Hadin Kai cannot be reached.
