LG chair unveils blueprint, pledges to improve local IGR, security & youth empowerment in Adamawa.

New Executive chairman of Ganye local government area in Adamawa state,Hon. Kamsobbi Daniel Puren has pledged to execute programmes with direct bearing s on his people in the three years tenure of office.

Puren while addressing his guests at a civil reception organized by his family and kinsmen in Yola Thursday said that the blueprint of his administration would focus on improving the living standards of the people.

He reiterated the readiness of his led- government to replicate the develop mental strides being recorded by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the grassroot level.

Puren stressed that himself and his team will concentrate on improving internally generated revenue,IGR, youths empower ment, Agriculture, security and health care delivery noting that the Ganye Inter national cattle market and to exploit the natural resources available in the area.

“Development is driven by ideas, not just money. We have resources that can be leveraged to improve our finances. It may not happen overnight, but we are laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth,” Puren said.

He explained that rural infrastructure would receive priority attention,partic ularly road construction linking farming communities to markets, saying improved connectivity would stimulate economic activities and enhance agricultural productivity.

‎”We will do our best to improve road connections to rural communities so that the economic viability of our local government will be boosted, and by extension contribute to the state’s economy,” he stated.

‎He also pledged to strengthen primary healthcare services while placing special emphasis on youth development, noting that as a young leader, he understands the aspirations and challenges facing young people.

‎Puren disclosed plans to introduce innovative programmes aimed at connecting Ganye youths with opportunities in the creative economy, technology and entrepreneurship.

‎”As a youth myself, youth development is my constituency. We want to expose our young people to innovation and ideas that will connect them with the wider world,” he said.

Commenting on the measures to put in tackling drug abuse among the youths, Puren pointed out that new modalities would be adopted by engaging youths in productive ventures rather than allowing them to remain doing nothing.

He maintained that, youth engagement and education remain the most effective tools for combating drug abuse and related criminal activities.

‎”An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Once we create opportunities that engage young people meaningfully, we can reduce crime and drug abuse. Education must also be promoted, not just as a pathway to wealth but as a means of building responsible citizens,” Puren explained.

On the advancement of rule of law and order considering the geographical nature of the council as a transit to the international border between Nigeria and Cameroon Republic where criminality and illegal mining activities are pronounced, the chairman said that his council will strengthen collaboration with the security agencies and neighboring local government councils with a view to work out security architect or framework to tackle potential threats.

while applauding the federal governmen t for the recent establishment of a milit ary base in the area which according to him would significantly strengthen security Puren urged his people to accord his government necessary support and cooperation with a view to achieve their desired goals.

‎”We will develop a joint security model with neighbouring local governments because insecurity does not respect administrative boundaries. With the support of security agencies, we believe peace will prevail.

‎”We have enormous natural endowme nts. Our responsibility is to package these opportunities, connect with credible investors and create markets that will benefit our people,” he said.
