NDE presents starter packs to 42 trained beneficiaries on skills acquisition in Adamawa

The National Directorate of Employment NDE has presented resettlement starter packs to forty two (42) beneficiaries after successful completion of the Rene wed Hope Employment Initiative,(RHEI 2) phase two in Adamawa state.

Director General of the Directorate, Mr. Silas Ali Agara while making the disburse ment of the resettlement items to the 42 beneficiaries in Yola on Thursday said that the initiative is designed to equip unemployed youths, women and vulnerable groups with marketable vocational, entrepreneurial, Agricultural and public works skills that will enable them to become self-reliant,create jobs, and contribute to national economic development.

Represented by Mr.Edmund Onwuliri,Aga ra stressed that under the Renewed hop e Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinub u, this initiative(RHEI Phase 2), a total of 1,012 beneficiaries were successfully trai ned across the state(Adamawa) in various vocational, entrepreneurial, Agric ultural and public works skills.

Agara announced that following the succ essful completion of the training 42 bene fiacies have been selected for resettleme nt based on their performance,commitm ent, and readiness to establish sustainab le enterprises noting that it is important to know that the resettlement exercise is being implemented in batches.

“The beneficiaries being empowered today constitute the first batch, while other qualified trainees will be resettled progressively as funds become This phased approach is intended to ensure that all deserving beneficiaries are supp orted within the available resources, and l wish to assure those awaiting resettlem ent that the Directorate remains committ Ed to reaching them as funding permits.

“Today’s resettlement is more than the presentation of starter packs,it is an investment in your future and a demonst ration of the federal government’s comm itment to supporting entrepreneurship and reducing unemployment.I encourage each beneficiary to make prudent use of the tools and equipment received by est ablishing viable businesses and creating employment opportunities for others and becoming ambassadors of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative in your communities”. Agara emphasized.

Earlier in his welcome address, Christopher Bamsida, the NDE’s Director, Vocational Skills Development (VSD) said that the occasion marked another significant milestone in the federal government’s unwavering commitment to tackling unemployment, reducing poverty and promoting sustainable liveli hoods through skills development and entrepreneurship.

Bamsida explained that the intervention is intended to empower beneficiaries with resources required to translate the skills they have acquired in to productive and sustainable means of livelihoods.

“The NDE deeply appreciates the support and cooperation of the Adamawa state government in advancing employment creation initiatives.We acknowledge the existing partnership with the poverty Alle viation and Wealth Creation Agency (PA WECA) of the state, which have contribut Ed significantly to the implementation of various employment and empowerment programmes within the state “. Bamsida stressed.

State Acting Coordinator of NDE, Aisha Modu Fika charged the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the Directorate by escalating the training given to them to the larger society.

In his response on behalf of the beneficiaries,Aqib Iliyasu Abdullahi expressed gratitude to the federal government through the National Directorate of Employment NDE for the opportunity accorded to broaden their skills to become employers of labour in the near future.

Abdullahi confirmed that the training which was for six months has been engaging and knowledgeable to all beneficiaries especially with their
Professional backgrounds in various vocational and entrepreneurial fields pledging to make use of the starter packs judiciously.
