Adamawa Journalist abducted by suspected kidnapping gang,demands N20 Million ransom

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.Adamawa state council has been thrown in to confusion with the abduction of it’s member by suspected kidnapping gang.

A statement by the vice Chairman of the council,Abdullahi Ibrahim issued in Yola Thursday indicated that,Usman Umar Sahabi of the Adamawa Broadcasting Cooperation,ABC. Yola was whisked away by his abductors at his residence around 1:00am Thursday’s morning to unknown destination.

While urging members of the Union to pray fervently for the safe release of Sahabi, Ibrahim maintained that all efforts will be put in place to ensure his return unconditionally.

According to family sources, the victim was abducted at his Wuro Chekke home around 1:00am on Thursday morning leaving his wife and children in shock and fear.

“About five gunmen stormed his house at about 1:00am this morning and forcefully had their way into his room where they whisked him away at gun point. So far no ransom was demanded,” the source disclosed.

Furthermore, the police command in the state has vowed to rescue the journalist, Umar Sahabi calling on the public any suspicious criminal activities in their areas for prompt action by security agents.

Spokesman of the command, SP Sulaiman Nguroje told journalists through a mobile phone interview that, police have deployed all their operational assets to ensure the journalist is rescued alive.

“We deployed our operational manpower and working round the clock to ensure that the abducted journalist is rescued alive.

“We have not rested on our oars since we learnt about the incident and are giving the criminals a hot chase till we rescue the Journalist alive and apprehend the perpetrators.
