Zamfara Govt bans sale of petroleum products in jerricans, breads on motorcycles

The Zamfara state Government has temporarily announced the banned of selling petroleum in Jerrican to motorists by filling stations and bakeries and bread sellers who are using vehicles and motorcycles across the state.
Briefing newsmen at the end of the State Security Council meeting held at Government House Chamber Gusau recently, Commissioner of Information and Culture, Comrade Mannir Muazu Haidara said the council resolutions was taken as a result of the nefarious activities of some filling stations who form the habit of selling petroleum in Jerrican and breads to some alledged suspected armed bandits in some rural communities in the state.
According to the Commissioner the sales of petroleum products in Jerricans and breads alledgelly to some suspected bandits has became very rampants in almost all the communities in the state and government would not continue to hold its arms and watch these nefarious acts and therefore advised the affected filling stations, bakeries and bread sellers on vehicles and motorcycles to desist from the acts, henceforth call on the security agencies to apprehend any defaulter found breaching the law and order.
The Council observed with dismay over the attitudes of some filling stations, bakeries and bread sellers in some rural area of the state who are using vehicles and motorcycle to sales petroleum products and breads to some alledgelly suspected armed bandits, we advised them to desist from the acts” he stated.
In the same vein, as part of the commitments to again address the lingering security challenges in the state, Comrade Haidara further informed that the used of tinted glass, closing of plate number and mounting of siren by some individual on unauthorized vehicles have been banned by the council and directed the security agencies to arrest and prosecute the offenders.
The Information manager therefore advised motorist who are yet to register their vehicle plate Number with relevant government authority to do so with immediate effect as concern authority in collaboration with security agencies are mandated to arrest and prosecute the defaulters.
On the issue of recovery of rustled animals and return same to the rightful owners, the Council according to the Information Commissioner however informed that security agencies have some recovered cattles from bandits and therefore call on the general public whose cattles were rustled to come along with supporting evidence and reclaim their missing/rustled animals after completing the due process.
While calling on the general public to be law abiding citizens by supporting all government programmes and policies, Comrade Haidara further reiterated Governor Dauda Lawal led administration determination in tackling insecurity challenges affecting the state. and further called on security agencies to apprehend any individual or group of people’s found breaching the law and order for possible prosecution.
He however apologize to the general public for the inconveniences this measures may have caused the public and assured them the state government commitments in safe guarding the lives and properties of its citizens.
