Kano CP Tasks DPOs To Escalate Patrols To Primary, Secondary Schools
By Hussaimi Ibrahim Kafi
The Kano State Police Commissioner, Usaini Gumel, has directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers across the state to intensify patrol in their respective areas of operation as part of a plan to provide adequate security extended to all Schools.
This was contained in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Kiyawa, which was made available to the DAILY HINT on Tuesday, in Kano.
According to him, the measure is aimed at ensuring the safety and security of students, teachers, and staff and to boost the overall educational sector in the state.
He added that the intention of increasing the presence of Police personnel in these areas is to further deter criminal activities and provide a secure environment conducive to learning and teaching.
He said “In furtherance, the Commissioner of Police urges members of the public, particularly school administrators, teachers, parents, and students, to cooperate fully with the Police and other security agencies and report any suspicious activities promptly so we can collectively work towards creating a safe and secure educational system that nurtures the growth and development of our future leaders.
“Finally, the Commissioner of Police appreciates the good people of the State for their support, cooperation, and understanding.”
