Army hands over another rescued Chibokgirl to Borno government

The Northeast Operation Hadin Kai of the Nigerian Army has handed over another recently rescued Chbokgirl and three children to the Borno state government.

While handing over the chibokgirl to the Borno state government at the headquarters, theater Command, yesterday, the theater Commander Northeast Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Shuabu Wahidi said ” Lydia Simon and her 3 children were rescued by our troops on17th April, 2024 .”

General Wahidi said the abduction of the 276 Chibokgirls has attracted global attention, which prompted the military to intensify search for the abducted school girls. Military offensive and Operation on the hideouts of insurgents has yeilded many results.

” Starting from Lydia Markus, Lydia Simon is the 18th Chibokgirl to be rescued, by our troops. Lydia is on the serial number 112 of the chibokgirls list”, the theater Commander added.

Also, the Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division, Brigadier General Abubakar Haruna said Lydia was rescued after a sustained operations and offensive on the Boko Haram terrorists hideouts ”

” After her rescued she and her children have undergone medical treatment, she was well feed and clothed, we make her feel at home, after all due process today, we are handing her over to Borno state government for further action”, General Haruna said.

Speaking in an interview with journalists, Lydia Simon said she was married out to 3 different husbands, She married the first husband, he was killed in a gun battle with the military, she was married out to another husband who was also killed in a military offensive, where she was married out to the 3rd husband who is still alive at the time she escaped.

Lamenting her ordeals, Lydia Simon said ” I have lied to my husband that I want to go and see my sister in another Boko Haram enclave before my husband agreed for me to visit her. I took the advantage to run away from the hide out and I was eventually rescued by the military.”.
