Adamawa: 34 -year-old altar servant in police net for alleged abduction of two Reverend fathers of his church.

A 34 year old man,Tahamado J. Demian has been arrested by Police in connection to the abduction of the rescued two clergymen in Adamawa state.

It could be recalled that, the two clergymen were abducted in Numan about two weeks ago and ransom of N10,000,000 on them but sensing danger at picking place for the ransom, the suspect ran away abandoning his motor cycle which was used as evidence in locating him.

Report had it that, when the Police arrested him and went to search his house then the two Reverend fathers were uncovered as a locally fabricated pistol was found in his custody.

Spokesman of the State Command,SP Suleiman Nguroje gave the hint through a press statement issued in Yola weekend stressing that, the command carried out a coordinated rescue operation at a particular criminal hideout situated at a remote side of Gwaida Malam village connecting parts of Numan and Demsa LGAs.

Nguroje disclosed that,these rescue operations, commenced from 21st February, 2025, in various criminal hideouts within the state and it yielded positive results as one Tahamado Jonathan Demian 34years old a member of the same Church, with the Victims was arrested for kidnapping of his two Reverend fathers (Abraham Samman and Mathew David Dusami) of Catholic Dioceses Yola and Jalingo respectively.

“The Command’s Planned operation had successfully rescued the two Reverend fathers unhurt and no dime paid as ransom. The victims are now receiving medical attention.

“The suspect was apprehended and now taking into custody for discreet investigation which has so far  led to the recovery:- One locally fabricated Assault rifle and Handset with sim cards .

“Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris expressed gratitude for the support  the command is receiving from the Government ,Sister security agencies and the public”. The statement declared

According to the statement, the commissioner of police therefore encouraged them to sustain the cooperation and collaboration  for timely response to emergency situations.

He affirmed that the command will take the suspect to court for prosecution as soon investigation is concluded
