Adamawa Senator clears air on bill for establishing federal University of Education Numan

The Senator representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial District, Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe has clarified that the bill on the establishment of proposed Federal University of Education Numan has not been rejected by the presidency.

Recall that,speculations had been going round especially on the social media recently that, President Bola Tinubu has rejected the bill to establish the Federal University of Education to be sited in Numan local government area.

Senator Yaroe, who is the sponsor of the bill gave the highlight at a stakeholders feedback meeting held with some of his constitutes in Mayo-belwa local government area weekend shedding light that, President Bola Tinubu didn’t rejected the bill rather requested some corrections to be carry out on it.

Yaroe reaffirmed his commitment to push for correcting all clerical errors identified by the presidency in the bill to establish the Federal University of Education in Numan.

“The bill was not entirely rejected; rather, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu requested some corrections to ensure accuracy in the proposed law for the teacher-training institution.

“The president pointed out certain errors in the bill that needed to comply with the constitution. For instance, we mistakenly assigned the power to grant land authority to the governor instead of the president, who is the rightful visitor for the institution.

“I believe if those grey areas observed by the presidency are corrected,that would give the president, the latitude to assent to it and to becoming a law as required by country’s constitution.

“We will rectify this error by replacing the governor with the president in the bill and we will resubmit it to the presidency as soon as the Senate reconvenes.”Yaroe assured.

Senator Yaroe used the forum to outlined some of his achievements and received commendations and suggestions from constituents in attendance.

According to him,his accomplishments, including ; personally funded the drilling of over thirty (30)boreholes.provision of free healthcare services, sponsored bills aimed at benefiting all Nigerians as well facilitation of nfrastructural development, awarded scholarships, and empowered farmers.

Others includes; training youth in solar installations and addressing power supply issues, particularly the procurement of transformers for various locations within the senatorial district, along with creating job opportunities for young people.

“Essentially, when you elect a representative to the National Assembly, it is important to report back to the people about what you are doing, what you have achieved, and your future plans.

“I convened this meeting to share my successes and to take note of all the observations, advices, and encouragements offered by my constituents.”Yaroe noted

Among those that graced the meeting were the Adamawa State Commissioner of Entrepreneurship, Comrade Haman jumba Gatugel, retired permanent secretaries,local leaders and coordinators of the Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe’s campaign team from the nine (9) local government areas in the southern Senatorial District in the state.

In their various remarks, they unanimously applauded the Senator (Yaroe) for his sincerity and genuine efforts to foster development in the southern senatorial district hence offered prayers and suggestions for more developmental milestones to him.
