Borno Assembly mourns Finance Commissioner’s untimely death

The Borno State House of Assembly (BOSHA) yesterday mourns the demise of the Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development, Hon. Ahmed Ali Ahmed who passed on at his Damboa road resident at the age of 42 last Monday morning in his sleep.
In a condolence message signed by the Speaker of the House on behalf of the Lawmakers and management staff, Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan condoled with the family of the deceased, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, Government and the people of the state, describing the late Commissioner “as one of the brilliant minds from the banking and finance industry, having worked at Zenith Bank plc for over 17 years, rising to the position of Deputy Manager before joining politics.
He also noted that the late Ahmed was a good ambassador of the State Executive Council, whose demise is painful at this moment.
Speaker Lawan however expressed grief over the passage of the deceased, saying, he was a hard-working young man and a selfless personality who was ever ready to offer his time, expertise and resources when needed.
“Within his short time in office as Commissioner, he served the state well with all his heart when he was alive. It is sad that we lost Hon. Ahmed to the cold hands of death when his political and administrative experiences were needed most. May Allah (God) rest his soul into Aljannatul Firdaus, and grant his family, political associates, and the entire state the fortitude to bear this loss.” Lawan stated.
Recall that the remains of the late Commissioner were buried in Maiduguri according to Islamic rites with Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governor Babagana Zulum, the Shehu of Borno, HRH, Dr. Abubakar Garbai Al-Amin Elkanemi and many dignitaries were in attendance. End
