Borno Federal Lawmaker, Jaha condoles Chibok community over death of identical twins, other flood victims

The Member representing Gwoza/Damboa/Chibok Federal Constituency at the National Assembly Rt. Hon. Ahmed Jaha (Babawo) has paid condolence visit to the people of Chibok community to commesurate and sympathise with the families of those who died as a result of flood disaster while returning back to Maiduguri after attending the burial of their patriarch late Hon. Dauda Pona.

Hon Pona who was former Chairman of Chibok local government area died last week after protracted illness, unfortunately, two of his twin grown -up sons, a daughter and grand child were among the flood victims who died at the spot, and were also buried according to Christian rites in Chibok, while three Passengers were rescued in the Volkswagen Sharon Bus they were using for travelling.

Consoling with families, relations and people of Chibok community over the unfortunate incident where ten (10) lives were lost, Hon Ahmed Jaha commended Good Samaritans, especially Youths who made extra ordinary sacrifices to recover the remains of the victims.

He also proceeded to Damboa Local Government Area and condole with family of one of the rescuers who coincidentally lost his life in trying to rescue the victims.

The Federal Lawmaker prayed to Allah (God) to grant eternal rest to the souls of the deceased and the families fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, even as he took the advantage and interacted with the communities and offer support financially to cushion their immediate hardships as a result of flood disaster.

Also, before visiting Chibok and Damboa, Hon. Babawo distributed food and non-food items to over 2,000 vulnerable people of Gwoza and other communities in his constituency.
