Gangwari urges FG to establish military base in his chiefdom.

The Gangwari Ganye, Alhaji Umaru Adamu Sanda has called on the federal government to establish a military base in his chiefdom with a view to safeguard the security in southern parts of Adamawa state.
Sanda made the call in Ganye while welcoming dignitaries at the silver jubilee celebration of his ascension on the throne stressing that Ganye in the southern Adamawa borders republic of Cameroon.
Sanda decried that vast thick Gashaka Gumbi international park is turning to an emerging safe heaven for criminal activities where high profile robbery and kidnapping cases are happening.
The paramount ruler applauded the development strives recorded by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s led administration in the state noting that prosperity would be favourable to him
In his remarks, erstwhile Defense minister, Lt. General Theophilus Danjuma rtd, has urged Nigerians to accord the traditional leaders necessary support and cooperation for more developments.
Danjuma who was conferred with a traditional title as the ‘Gang Paan Ganye’ said that the country is facing multiple challenges which needs prayers from the governed.
“Adamawa people, I plead with you to be loyal to your leaders and Nigeria at large, that is the only way to achieve peace and development, ” he said.
vice president Kashim Shetima appreciated the roles being played by traditional rulers as bridge builders urging them to remain agents of change in their various communities.
Represented by the minister of state regional development Mallam Uba Maigari, assured traditional institutions of government support and urged them to sustain their peace project across the country.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri while speaking at the event pointed out that his administration enjoyed the total support of traditional rulers especially in areas of maintaining peace.
He maintained that the responsibilities of traditional institutions is indispensable for the growth of demicracy and economy development of Nigeria.
“Today it is celebration of wisdom your, rein as the traditional ruler of Ganye chiefdom has brought stability and agriculture development in the area, ” he stated.
