Gov. Buni Expands Ramadan Iftar Feeding Program to 102 Centers Across Yobe
By Yusuf Ali
Yobe State Government, under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni CON, has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the welfare of its citizens, particularly during this blessed season of Ramadan.
Through the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ethical Reorientation, the government has expanded its Iftar feeding program to 102 centers, strategically distributed across the 17 LGAs, with additional locations situated mostly in health institutions. This marks a significant increase from the previous 85 centers, ensuring greater reach and inclusivity.
In addition to the feeding centers, over 35,000 food baskets have been distributed to deserving families, reinforcing the Governor’s resolve to alleviate hunger and promote compassion during Ramadan.
H.E Gov. Buni has called on the Muslim Ummah to complement these efforts by looking out for one another and ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry. This act of collective solidarity reflects the true spirit of Ramadan and strengthens the bond of unity within the community.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has provided locations of the free feeding centers in the attached document. Citizens are encouraged to refer to the document and guide those in need to benefit from this opportunity to share in the blessings of the season.
As Governor Buni said “let us all join hands in making this Ramadan memorable for everyone, particularly the less privileged, as we embody the virtues of kindness, charity, and empathy that the holy month inspires”.
