Governor Buni Distributes 1,500 Ramadan Food Baskets to Yobe Teachers
By Hussaini Ibrahim Sulaiman
In a continued effort to support food security during Ramadan, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has distributed 1,500 bags of rice to teachers across the state, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare.
The food items were handed over on March 7, 2025, by the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Goje Mohammed, to the Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara, for onward distribution to junior civil servants.
Priority will be given to teachers under the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the Teaching Service Board (TSB), and the Science and Technical Education Board (STEB).
While receiving the items on behalf of the civil servants, Alhaji Betara assured that the distribution process would be transparent and fair to ensure the intended beneficiaries receive their share.
Representatives from the education boards expressed gratitude to Governor Buni for his continuous support of teachers, acknowledging their critical role in shaping the future of Yobe’s children.
