Kano Govt donates 600 bags of rice to judiciary, federal courts for Ramadan

By Hussaini Ibrahim, Kano

The Kano State Government has distributed 600 bags of 25 kg rice to the State Judiciary, various federal courts in Kano, and legal professional bodies as part of its Ramadan support initiative.

The donation, which took place at Gidan Hatsi on Muganda Road in the state capital, was also extended to the Law Officers Association of Nigeria (LOAN) and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Kano and Ungogo branches.

This was disclosed on Tuesday by Aminu Bello Sani, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Ministry of Justice, in a statement made available to DAILY HINT in Kano.

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Haruna Isah Dederi, presented the donation on behalf of the state government. Represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Justice and Constitutional Matters, Barr. Aminu Hussain, he emphasized that the gesture was a token of appreciation for the judiciary’s dedication to justice and governance.

“We recognize the important work that you do, and we want to show our appreciation for your tireless efforts,” Barr. Dederi stated.

He noted that the donation aimed to support legal stakeholders during the holy month of Ramadan, in line with the government’s tradition of providing assistance during the period.

Barr. Hussain also underscored the values of compassion, empathy, and kindness, stating that such initiatives foster a more just and equitable society.

Responding on behalf of the Kano State Judiciary, the Director of Administration at the Kano State Sharia Court of Appeal, Malam Nura Muhammad, expressed gratitude for the government’s support.

The donation is part of the broader Ramadan relief efforts by the Kano State Government, which include a large-scale daily feeding program expected to benefit thousands of residents across the state.
