Modibbo Adama Matriculates 8,591 students.

A total of 8,591 undergraduate and post graduate students have been matriculated for various programs by Modibbo Adama University Yola in Adamawa state.
The matriculation was carried out at the University’s convocation square and is for 2025/ 2026 academic session.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ibrahim Umar while delivering his welcome address at the occasion on Thursday stated that the new students were admitted into the colleges, faculties and special programs of the university.
Professor Umar gave the breakdown of the admissions, explaining that, 1,966 were admitted into the College of Postgraduate Studies; 201 to College of Medical Sciences; and 336 to Faculty of Agriculature.
According to him, Faculty of Computing received 616 students; Faculty of Education 260 students; Faculty of Engineering 504; Faculty of Law 59; Faculty of Life Sciences 1,225; Faculty of Physical Sciences 264; and Facuulty of Social and Management Sciences 1,202.
The VC said 1,393 students were admitted into the Centre of Distance Learning, and 100 for the university’s Sandwich degree program.
“These numbers reflect our increasing capacity and the growing confidence the public has in this institution,” the VC said of the new students, adding that 132 of the newly admitted students were from countries other than Nigeria.
Stating that the university is committed to maintaining high standards of academic excellence, the VC warned all students against examination malpractices, cultisms, and other forms of misbehaviour.
Umar highlighted some of the laudable achievements recorded by his stewardship including provision of steady power supply and improved security atmosphere across the campus.
“Today, I am proud to state that the university now enjoys 24-hour solar-powered electricity, enhancing both learning and research activities,” he said.
