In a heartfelt and impassioned address, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State reassured citizens of his unwavering commitment to their collective welfare during a recent courtesy visit by the Lunguda ethnic nationality.
This visit, marked by expressions of gratitude for the recent creation of new Emirates and Chiefdoms, highlighted the Governor’s determination to foster peace and development across the state.
Governor Fintiri, who welcomed the Lunguda delegation led by HRH Dr. Dishon Dasanda II, the President and Chairman of the Lunguda Traditional Council, articulated his dedication to serving the interests of all communities in Adamawa. “I will put down my life for the collective survival of all of us,” he declared, emphasizing his resolve to fulfill the mandate given to him by the people. “We will continue to do as a government what you have asked us to do. I have no choice but to honor your mandate.”
The Governor’s remarks came as he extended New Year greetings to the citizens of Adamawa, noting that the visit from the Lunguda people was a significant first for the year. He commended the Lunguda for their peaceful coexistence and expressed his gratitude for their support.
In a show of solidarity, HRH Dr. Dishon Dasanda II praised Governor Fintiri as a transformative leader not only for the Lunguda but for all ethnic nationalities in Adamawa and beyond.
“This visit is to openly show our support for the creation of Emirates and Chiefdoms,” he said, acknowledging the Governor’s commitment to peace and development. “It’s commendable to say that in Adamawa State, you are second to none. You are a peacemaker, and you have helped us stand tall. Thank you for taking us out of the woods of modern slavery.”
The banquet hall of the Government House was filled to capacity as prominent members of the Lunguda community, including district heads and titleholders, gathered to express their loyalty to the Governor’s leadership.
Chief Ibrahim Welye, the National President of Kwandi Nunguraya and also known as Kwalmila NUNGURABA II, articulated the significance of the solidarity visit, emphasizing the need to celebrate the newly appointed Emirates and Chiefdoms who had long been marginalized.
“We are celebrating the courage in you, Governor Fintiri,” he said, reflecting on the newfound identity and freedom of the Adamawa people. “This is a historic moment for us, as we recognize the audacity it takes to create a more equitable society.”
As the Governor continues to implement initiatives aimed at enhancing peace and development in Adamawa State, the support from the Lunguda ethnic nationality underscores a growing solidarity among the diverse communities that make up the state.
Governor Fintiri’s administration appears poised to navigate the complexities of governance while fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation among the people of Adamawa.
The Guyuk Local government area Chairman, Barrister Kasa KD Shallom also added to the many accolades showered on Governor Ahmadu and praised him to be a leader who have done a lot to the Lunguda community.
He stressed that the People of Guyuk Will be ever grateful to the Governor who has given them the opportunity to develop the area in the area of Education, agriculture, mining and physical infrastructure.
Kasa, like Oliver twist, solicited for an employment embargo be lifted up for more of the unemployed Youth of the area gain employment at both the local and state level.
He further said they are in Government House to show their level of solidarity to the Newly created Chiefdoms and Emirates.
