Police arrest 148 suspects for various criminal offences in 2025 1st quarter in Adamawa. Says CP Morris

The Adamawa state police command has arrested 148 suspected criminals for crimes ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, culpable homicide, defilement and other criminal offences in the state.
Commissioner of Police,CP Dankwabo Morris made the disclosure at a press conference on his command’s success story in the quarter of year 2025 explaining that dangerous weapons recovered from some of the suspects include ; 11(eleven) AK-47 rifles, twenty locally fabricated assault weapons, and 110 rounds of AK-47 ammunition.
CP Morris, stated that the command has made substantial progress over the last three months recovering additional three stolen vehicles which were believed to have been retrieved from their legitimate
owners forcefully.
“This is in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who earlier tasked state commands across the country to implement strategic action plans aimed at reducing violent crime and enhancing public safety.
“Our success is directly tied to the implementation of the IGP’s proactive crime prevention strategies.In the course of their operations, the police made significant recoveries of illegal arms and stolen property”.He maintained
According to him, there was a successful neutralization of two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) allegedly planted by Boko Haram operatives in a location in the state
The police safely detonated the devices, preventing what could have been devastating attacks on innocent civilians. Furthermore, CP Morris reported the safe rescue of two kidnapped Catholic priests and four other abducted individuals.
Most importantly, all victims were rescued unharmed, and no ransom was paid for their release, underlining the effectiveness of the command’s tactical approach.
The commissioner also expressed profound gratitude to key stakeholders for cooperating and supporting the police urging the public to avail security agencies intelligence report on time so that the security can counter any planned evil against unsuspecting members of the public in the state.
CP Morris also extended his appreciation to other security agencies, community leaders, and the media for their collaborative efforts and dedication to a crime-free society.
