Political, Public Office Holders Purchase Senatorial Form for Buni
By Hussaini Ibrahim
DAMATURU, Nigeria — The Political and Public Office Holders Association of Yobe North Senatorial Zone has purchased the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, to contest the senatorial seat.
The development was announced in a statement issued by the Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed.
According to the statement, representatives of various political and public office holders’ groups presented the forms to the governor.
Spokesman of the association, Hon. Aji Bularafa, said members made personal donations to raise funds for the purchase of the forms.
He said the gesture was aimed at ensuring that Governor Buni continues serving the people after completing his tenure as governor.
“This is to ensure that after your tenure as governor, you should continue serving the people in a capacity of a federal legislator,” Bularafa said.
Chairman of the State Critical Stakeholders Forum and former governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, commended the association for endorsing Buni.
Gaidam, who is currently the Minister of Police Affairs, described the move as a demonstration of confidence in the governor’s leadership.
Responding, Buni expressed appreciation to the association and the people of the zone for the support.
“I cannot thank you enough, and I pledge to continue serving our people diligently,” the governor said.
The event was attended by political leaders, stakeholders and supporters from across Yobe North Senatorial District.
