Professor Jibril Aminu Passed Away At 85 Years

Prof. Jibril Aminu, a distinguished Nigerian scholar, politician, and diplomat, has passed away, according to a family source.
The news was confirmed by Honourable Abdullahi Prambe, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development in Adamawa State, in an exclusive statement to media in Yola.
His contributions to education, healthcare, and governance will remain etched in our history
Prof. Aminu, who celebrated his 85th birthday on August 25, 2024, was a towering figure in Nigerian politics and academia.
Born in Song, Adamawa State, in 1939, he had an illustrious career as a Consultant Cardiologist, educational administrator, and statesman. He served as Minister of Education, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, and Senator for Adamawa Central.
Honourable Abdullahi Prambe, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing Prof. Aminu as a mentor and a beacon of leadership for Adamawa State and Nigeria at large.
“His contributions to education, healthcare, and governance will remain etched in our history,” Prambe said.
The family has yet to release an official statement regarding the cause of death or funeral arrangements.
