Sen. Moallayidi: One of the APC’s Rocks in Adamawa, Strategising for Tinubu’s 2027 Landslide Victory
Senator Abubakar Ahmad Moallayidi, who represented Adamawa Southern Senatorial Zone from 2015 to 2019, continues to be a towering figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), both in Adamawa State and across Nigeria.
Known for his unyielding loyalty and strategic brilliance, Moallayidi has played a pivotal role in keeping the APC vibrant and cohesive, ensuring its dominance in Adamawa politics while laying the groundwork for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s anticipated landslide victory in the 2027 general elections.
Moallayidi’s political journey with the APC began with the party’s formation in 2014, and his commitment has only deepened over the years.
During his tenure as senator for Adamawa South—a district comprising nine local government areas including Toungo, Ganye, Jada, Mayo-Belwa, Demsa, Numan, Lamurde, Guyuk, and Shelleng—he became a grassroots mobilizer and a champion of party ideals.
His legislative contributions during the 8th National Assembly, including passing bills that have since become laws, earned him widespread admiration.
Many in Adamawa still recall his efforts in empowering women and youth, securing jobs for hundreds, and touching lives through his compassionate leadership.
His loyalty to the APC was instrumental in the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019. Moallayidi’s campaign efforts in the North-east, particularly in Adamawa, helped secure crucial votes during a time when the party faced internal crises and defections.
His strategic involvement didn’t stop there; he was a key figure in mobilizing support for President Tinubu’s 2023 victory, working closely with influential figures like Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to ensure the APC’s success in the region.
Moallayidi’s dedication to Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda has been described as a dream fulfilled, reflecting his long-standing commitment to the party’s vision for Nigeria.
Today, Moallayidi remains a die-hard APC stalwart, channeling his energy into ensuring Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. As an elder statesman in both the APC and Adamawa politics, he has become a unifying force, touring the state and beyond to rally party members and even those outside the APC fold.
His intellectual might and political acumen have made him a highly sought-after resource person, offering patriotic and constructive advice to strengthen party cohesion.
“Recognizing the contributions of a man like Senator Moallayidi will give the APC a significant edge as 2027 draws closer,” said Aso James, a party loyalist in Yola, echoing the sentiments of many in the state.
Moallayidi’s past achievements underscore his value to the APC. Beyond his senatorial role, he chaired the FCT Area Council election in 2015/2016, delivering what was described as the best results across all six area councils, showcasing his ability to lead and win.
As the Managing Director of ICC and Eagle Square, he generated substantial revenue for the government, proving his resourcefulness and transparency. These qualities, combined with his deep understanding of party dynamics, position him as a critical asset for the APC’s future.
Despite losing his re-election bid in 2019—a defeat attributed to internal party crises, religious and ethnic sentiments, and the challenges of representing a politically disadvantaged Christian-dominated zone—Moallayidi’s influence has not waned. His steadfast loyalty and strategic foresight continue to inspire party members.
Political analysts in Adamawa argue that his exclusion from higher roles, such as a ministerial position under Tinubu, overlooks his proven track record and the potential he holds to further the APC’s agenda.
As the 2027 elections approach, Moallayidi is leaving no stone unturned. He is actively working to consolidate support for Tinubu, leveraging his status as an elder statesman to bridge divides within the party and attract new allies.
His vision for a united APC, coupled with his belief in Tinubu’s leadership, has galvanized party faithful in Adamawa and beyond. “Senator Moallayidi is a political giant whose efforts will ensure President Tinubu wins by a landslide in 2027,” said a party chieftain in Ganye, reflecting the optimism surrounding his contributions.
In a political landscape often marked by opportunism, Senator Abubakar Moallayidi stands out as a beacon of loyalty and service. His legacy as a party unifier and strategist continues to shape the APC’s trajectory, making him a cornerstone of its success in Adamawa and a key player in Nigeria’s political future.
