Tinubu Records Landslide Victory in Imo Presidential Primary

OWERRI, Nigeria — Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, says members of the All Progressives Congress in the state demonstrated overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the party’s direct presidential primary election held across the 27 local government areas of the state.

The governor said the massive turnout and participation of party members reflected growing confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda ahead of the 2027 general election.

Uzodimma made the remarks on Saturday after participating in the APC presidential primary election in Imo State, where President Tinubu emerged as the party’s presidential flag bearer.

The development comes amid increasing political mobilisation within the ruling party as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections across Nigeria.

According to Uzodimma, the direct primary election further strengthened the democratic foundation and internal processes of the APC while showcasing unity among party members in Imo State.

“Today, we have made a big statement across Imo State as party members gathered for the Direct Primary Election to elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR as the Presidential Flag Bearer of our great party, the All Progressives Congress,” he said.

“The massive turnout and overwhelming participation by party faithful clearly demonstrate the confidence and trust we continue to repose in the leadership and vision of Mr President.”

The governor stated that the economic and governance reforms introduced under the Tinubu administration were already producing positive outcomes across critical sectors of the country.

“With President Tinubu’s transformative drive visibly impacting critical sectors of the nation, the positive effects are being felt across the country,” he stated.

“The economy is steadily growing, stability is aligning with expectations, and our collective votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reaffirm our support for the Renewed Hope Agenda, from which Imo State has continued to benefit immensely.”

Uzodimma also expressed optimism about the party’s chances in the forthcoming general election, assuring that the APC remained committed to mobilising wider support for the president across the state.

“As the General Elections approach, our support base for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains strong and unflinching,” he said.

“We are fully committed to mobilising greater support that will ultimately secure victory for Mr President and our great party, the APC, at the polls.”

Speaking further on his role as Coordinator and Collation Officer for the APC presidential primary election in Imo State, Uzodimma described the outcome as a reflection of the trust and optimism party members have in the president’s leadership.

“Across the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State, the results were overwhelming and deeply encouraging, expressing the optimism and trust our people have in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC,” he said.

“This remarkable outcome further confirms the massive victory we are determined and fully prepared to deliver for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our great party in the forthcoming General Election.”
