YOLA: Society with more Worship Center s than industries will not prosper. Says Digital lmam

A famous Abuja based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Muhammad Nurudeen Khalil has
admonish the federal government to regulate religious activities in the country with a view to reduce if not eradicate negative implications against the public.

Sheikh Khalil popularly known as “Digital lmam” gave the advice while delivering a keynote address at a book launch in Yola Adamawa state capital at the weekend stressing that some clerics (religious practitioners) are implicating religion in a negative perspective which does more harm than good in the society.

Sheikh Khalil regrettably said religion is very high in Nigeria but unfortunately without much development noting that religion has answers or solutions to human problems but it seems to be failing in the country due to utterances of the practitioners

“I think the Government needs to be courageous enough to regulate religious activities in Nigeria because how we implicate religion in promoting deviant act or character .

“Any society that has more places of worship than industries will not prosper” . Sheikh emphasized.

He also charged the political class to adopt principles of inclusiveness and citizenship in their manifesto as we face the 2027 general elections noting that any politician especially public office seeker using religion as a campaign tool should be discarded from the game

He however applauded the academic contributions of Felix Joseph Samari for publishing his two books named; ‘When my name wasn’t called’ & The Implicated
Religion, Identity, and the Nigerian condition’ explaining that the author of the books used his personal experiences in life to encourage people to be hopeful in their respective endeavors.

In his remarks as Father of the day of the books launch, His Royal Majesty.Kwandi Nunguraya,Kuruhaye Dishon Dansanda said that the author of the books ‘Samari’ has done a remarkable job by advocating for peace and religious tolerance among our people through his writing.

Dansanda also advised politicians to do their politics devoid of religious sentiment and ethnicity rather should see all as humans in the interest of peace and tranquility.

Addressing attendees of the occasion, author of the books, Felix J.Samari expressed gratitude to all that supported the project of the publication which he said started as a challenge to him in an attempt to contribute in changing our society for the better.

Samari explained that”When my name was not called” book is a compelling exploration of identity, belonging and the experiences of minorities in Nigeria adding that the book gives voice to the unseen realities, challenges, and hopes of those whose names are often not called, and calls for a more inclusive and just society.

On the other book “The Implicated ; Religion, Identity and the Nigeria conditio n, Samari pointed out that a timely and thought-provoking analysis of the complex relationship between religion, identity and the Nigerian condition’,it challenges readers to reflect on our collective responsibility in shaping a more peaceful, just and United Nigeria.

In their separate remarks the two books reviewers, the Dean of student Affairs FCE Yola,Dr Adamu Babikkoi and Johnson Madi,PhD in Philosophy of Religion highlighted that the author used his personal life to encourage the people to keep on trying in what ever field of endeavor they are assuring that there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
