2027: Adamawa Elders Council endorse Bola Tinubu’s second term in office

A group of stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress,APC under the auspice ‘The Adamawa Progressive Elders Council’ (APEC) have formally announced its endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election as the president in the 2027 general elections.
The Council reached the resolution at a crucial meeting concerning the strategies for the forthcoming 2027 elections held in Yola weekend where they reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and commitment to party unity and progress in Adamawa State.
In an eight-point communiqué signed by the Vice Chairman of the Council,Former Senator Abubakar Halilu Girei, and the Secretary, Mrs. Olvadi Bema Madayi, which was made available to journalists, the Council expressed deep appreciation to the Leadership of the Party in the state (Adamawa) for establishing the Council and providing continuous support.
According to the communique, the Council was constituted to promote peace, internal harmony, reconciliation, and collective strength within the party, with a clear mandate to build a formidable APC structure capable of delivering President Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 electoral cycle.
It (Communique) indicated that, the Council applauded presentations made by the Steering Committee and the Secretariat while reaffirming its commitment to resolutions of the inaugural meeting, particularly the provision requiring any member with electoral ambitions to resign from the Council to preserve its neutrality and moral authority.
The meeting resolved to fully support the Chairman and the Steering Committee in developing operational frameworks and activity timelines for effectiveness of the Council. All proposals presented by the Steering Committee were unanimously endorsed.
“The Council further resolved to cascade its activities to local government and ward levels to strengthen grassroots engagement, facilitate early identification of disputes, and ensure prompt conflict resolution before issues escalate.
“The Council approved the establishment of four standing committees: Finance and General Purpose Committee chaired by Mrs. Olvadi Bema Madayi; Contact and Mobilization Committee chaired by Chief Joel Hammanjoda Madaki; Conflict Resolution Committee chaired by Prof. Tahir Mamman, SAN; and Media and Publicity Committee chaired by Ahmad Sajoh, fnipr.
“The Council, comprising prominent APC members drawn from all 21 local government areas of Adamawa State, unanimously joined other notable individuals and groups to endorse President Tinubu for a second term in office in 2027, citing his bold leadership, reform agenda, and commitment to national development.
The meeting was attended by prominent party leaders including, the Minister of Livestock Development,Hon.Idi Maiha, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, former governors, serving and former ministers.
Others present were; former members of the National and State Assemblies, former state cabinet members, current federal appointees, and other high-profile APC leaders from across the state. Members of the Adamawa State APC leadership.
