Gov. Buni’s APC Constitution Review Committee Calls for Memoranda
By Yusuf Ali
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially invited party members to submit memoranda as part of the ongoing process to review and amend its constitution.
The exercise is spearheaded by a committee chaired by His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni CON, COMB, as constituted by the National Executive Committee (NEC) on February 26, 2025.
In a public notice released on Thursday, May 22, 2025, the committee emphasized its commitment to inclusivity by encouraging robust participation from all party members. The call for memoranda is aimed at gathering input on specific articles of the constitution that require amendments to align with the party’s evolving vision and operational needs.
According to the statement, members are required to submit 10 typed copies of their memoranda, specifying the articles they propose for amendment.
Submissions must follow a set format, including Times New Roman font, double spacing, and font size 14. Additionally, contributors are to provide two flash drives containing their documents.
The submission period runs from May 22 to June 21, 2025, with all entries to be addressed to the Secretary of the Committee, Professor Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana, SAN, at the Legal Services Department of the APC National Secretariat, located at 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse 2, Abuja.
Governor Buni, who also serves as the Chairman of the APC Constitution Amendment Committee, assured members that their contributions would play a critical role in shaping the party’s future. “This process is a testament to our collective commitment to strengthening our internal democracy and ensuring our constitution reflects the aspirations of all members,” Governor Buni said.
The APC urges members to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the review process, emphasizing the importance of wide-ranging inputs in crafting a comprehensive and forward-looking constitution.
