Gov. Uzodimma Hails Peaceful APC National Assembly Primaries In Imo

OWERRI, Nigeria — Hope Uzodimma has commended members of the All Progressives Congress in Imo State for what he described as the peaceful and successful conduct of the party’s National Assembly primary elections across the state.
The exercise formed part of the APC’s nationwide primaries aimed at producing candidates for various federal constituencies and senatorial districts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Uzodimma stated that the adoption of the direct primary election method had continued to strengthen the democratic foundation and internal processes of the ruling party.
“With the Direct Primary Election, we have continued to strengthen the democratic foundation and internal processes of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, as we successfully and peacefully conducted the National Assembly Primary Elections across the nation,” he said.
The governor noted that party members in Imo remained united, orderly and peaceful throughout the exercise, leading to the emergence of what he described as credible candidates.
“In Imo State, we remained united, orderly, and peaceful throughout the exercise, resulting in the emergence of credible candidates for the various Federal Constituencies and Senatorial Districts,” he stated.
He added that the party was awaiting the official ratification and release of the results by the national leadership of the APC.
Uzodimma also commended party leaders and members in the state for ensuring transparency and peaceful participation during the primaries.
“I sincerely commend every party member in our dear Imo State, as well as the leadership of the party, for ensuring a transparent process that recorded a peaceful and successful outcome,” he said.
The governor expressed optimism about the remaining stages of the electoral process, stressing the need for unity and commitment within the party.
“As we move forward into the remaining phases of the electoral process, we remain optimistic, focused, and committed to the unity and progress of our party,” he added.
