Insurgency: Defense ministers, service chiefs in Maiduguri to assess war against Boko Haram

The Ministers of Defense, Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru and state minister Alhaji Bello Matawali, the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa and other service chiefs were on Frday in Maiduguri on operational visit to assess the ongoing counter insurgency war.
Speaking in an interview shortly after a closed door meeting with theater Commander and other formation and unit commanders at the theater command, headquarters, Maiduguri, the Minister of Defense Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru said ” we are here on a operational visit to the theater command to assess the ongoing war against Boko Haram and improve on it to see how we can end this war before the end of this year”.
“So far we are satisfied with ongoing efforts but we would strategize to see how we can deploy more equipment and personnel to end this war”, the minister said.
“We are here to see how we can collectively work with the Borno state government and other governors to end this war in the state and Northeast in general”, he added
While addressing the troops, the minister said’ I am here to bring to you the message of the President of the Federal Republic and commander in Chief, President Bola Tinubu commended your efforts and sacrifices and urged you to do more to end this insurgency before the end of this year.can you do this for me? Thank you”.
At the Government House, Maiduguri, Hon. Badaru assured the Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum that the Federal Government under the leadership of President Tinubu is working hard to tackle all security challenges in the country..
He commend the Borno state government for supporting the military in the fight against insurgency.
