Man Arrested For Alleged Fraud And Car Theft in Adamawa

A man in his late 30s, Mubarak Abdulkadir, resident of Shagari in Yola South local government area has been arrested by police for alleged cheating and being in possession of suspected stolen vehicle in Adamawa state.
Spokesman of the Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje disclosed the development in a press release issued in Yola Tuesday stressing that on the 1st February 2025, Ahmed Salihu, a manager of Two Star Filling Station, Mubi, reported that the suspect went to his filling station and bought fuel worth ₦97, 850 and collected additional ₦10,000 under false pretence, pretending to pay through POS . However, he fled in a Honda CRV with foreign registration number HJ58URU.
“Following swift response, by gallant officers attached to Divisional police Headquarters, Mubi North, he was arrested at Mubi Toll Gate, during investigation he was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the vehicle’s ownership and there is no document proofing ownership or justify his claims and determine the true ownership.
“The Adamawa State Police Command urges anyone with a rightful claim to visit Divisional police Headquarters, Mubi North with valid proof of ownership or contact the command’s PRO for further inquiries”.The release announced.
