Namdas join guber-race, pledges more Democratic dividends in Adamawa

YOLA: Former Spokesman of the House of Rep resentatives, Abdulrazak Namdas has formally declared his intention to contest for the governorship position in the 2027 elections in Adamawa state.

Namdas made his governorship ambition public when his campaign train visited the All Progressives Congress,par ty Secretariat in Yola on Wednesday stressing that the decision to join the governorship race was informed after wide consultations across the state and beyond.

Namdas told the state party leadership that as a former federal legislator and promising politician, he feels if the electorate give him the mandate come 2027 that would an opportunity to serve by consolidating the laudable achievements recorded by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration.

He acknowledged the stand of the party to provide a labelled playing ground for all interested aspirants advancing that during his consultations with his people and supporters, Namdas announced that over 80% of the people are in full support of his desire to governed Adamawa state

“Over 80 percent of individuals and groups consulted, including women, youths, students, and other stakeholders endorsed my ambition, giving me the confidence to join the race.

‎“I have traveled widely across Adamawa, Abuja, and other major cities, consulting with critical stakeholders. In the end, more than 80 percent of them gave me the go-ahead to contest,” he said.

‎He however,pledged to prioritize human capital development, security, education, infrastructure, healthcare, water supply, and rural development not forgetting to empower women and youths if elected.

‎On security, Namdas identified farmers-herders clashes as a major concern in the state, assuring that he would pursue sustainable solutions to restore peace and boost agricultural productivity.

‎He reiterated that his ambition is not a “do-or-die affair,” urging all aspirants to embrace a peaceful and democratic process.

He also commended the conduct of the recent party congresses in the state, describing them as free, fair, and inclusive.

Earlier in his response, the new chairman of the APC in the state,Hamza Madagali expressed gratitude to Namdas:s declaration saying that all aspirants will be given fair and just treatment as a ruling party.

‎Madagali told Namdas and his team that, the party is with the zeal to conduct credible and transparent primaries which would be acceptable to all contestants affirming that, under his watch,no body would be accorded undue advantage over others.

‎“We will provide an enabling environment for everyone. No aspirant will be favoured. The process that produced the current leadership will be replicated during the primaries to ensure fairness and inclusiveness,”.Namdas stated.

The chairman applauded president Bola Tinubu for providing conducive atmosphere for democracy to strive which he expressed optimism to be a way to strengthen unity within the party
